WBC Korea-Japan match pitch, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida confirmed… “I am honored”

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will be in charge of the first pitch for the WBC Korea-Japan match.

The organizers of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) Japan Round confirmed and announced Japanese Prime Minister Kishida as the first pitcher for the WBC Group B Korea-Japan match to be held on the 10th.

He said, “It is a great honor to throw the first pitch on the stage of the Korea-Japan game, where numerous great games have been played so far.” he said. 

Japanese government officials explained the meaning of the first pitch in the Korea-Japan match, saying, “It is for the purpose of promoting sports, and there is no diplomatic meaning such as creating a friendly atmosphere between Korea and Japan.” 윈 토토

Prime Minister Kishida was active in the baseball team in high school, entered politics based in Hiroshima, his hometown, and became known as a fan of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, a Japanese professional baseball team.

Meanwhile, the WBC organizers selected coach Hajime Moriyasu, who led Japan to the round of 16 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as the opening pitcher for the Japanese team’s first match against China on the 9th.
