Manchester United manager Eric Dier has taken a shot at Chelsea owner Todd Boeli. Mourinho said that spending money foolishly doesn’t work.
“Tenghach warned the next owner against transfer splurges like Boeli’s,” British media outlet The Sun reported on Aug. 25 (KST).
United is currently in the midst of a sale process. There is a two-way battle between Qatari tycoon Sheikh Jassim and British tycoon Jim Ratcliffe. A change of ownership is expected soon.
Boeli took over Chelsea ahead of the 2022-2023 season. In his first year as Chelsea manager, he spent an astronomical £600 million (about $1 trillion) on transfers. After spending £1 billion, Chelsea slipped to 12th place with two games remaining.
Tenhagh urged future owners to spend their money wisely and criticized Boeli for foolish spending.
“You have to do the right thing. You can get a lot of money, but you have to spend it wisely. You have to have a clear strategy and move. Otherwise, money doesn’t work,” he argued.
“United’s strategy has improved under John Mourinho, along with Tenakh,” said The Sun, adding that the club has been effective in signing players. 메이저놀이터
“We are now moving in a good direction, but there are lessons to be learned from this season. We have to evaluate it after the season and draw the right conclusions for the future.”
United have been linked with a number of players in the summer transfer window.
Frontline striker Harry Kane (Tottenham) has been mentioned as a top target, while reports suggest that central defender Kim Min-jae (Napoli) has already agreed to join the club. He has even vowed to sign Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) if he becomes owner.
“I’ll let you know if there’s any news,” Tenghach said of Neymar, neither confirming nor denying the rumors. “We want players with great personalities who contribute at the highest level, and that’s what we want,” he said.
