Nongshim Moving Away From POs “We Need to Be More Desperate”

Nongshim’s chase for the mid-table is in jeopardy after being swept by T1 in the second round.

On Thursday, Nongshim RedForce lost to T1 0-2 in Game 1 of Week 6, Day 3 of the 2023 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer at Roll Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Below is an interview with Nongshim after the game.

How did you feel after the game?

Coach Heo Young-cheol: It wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. With this kind of performance, I couldn’t guarantee the next game. We didn’t play well, and I felt hopeless.

Sylvie: It’s true that we didn’t play well, and I didn’t think it would be good if we played the next match with this performance.

What do you think contributed to your defeat?

Heo Young-cheol: In terms of the combinations themselves, we picked some good ones in the second half, and the play to get Annie on the second dragon was good, but we lacked decisiveness and engagement in our compositions, such as fighting with our backs to the wall even though Rumble was our opponent, or being overinvested in getting one opponent. So I tried to choose picks that would give me the initiative, but in practice, solid line play doesn’t translate well to the game. The players are passive in the lineup and make a lot of mistakes. I ended up running around trying to create variables because I was giving away kills with ridiculous mistakes at the bottom, which made the game difficult 오래된토토사이트.

Why did you choose a two-set trundle?

Against my right opponent, the trundle top was prepared since spring. I thought he could hold his own in a two-on-two situation. However, it’s been a while since I’ve played him, so he couldn’t read the composition properly. I should have used my ultimate to pressure him, but since I was a rookie and didn’t have enough practice, I didn’t play well.

Why didn’t I perform as well as I should have?

Heo Young-cheol: I feel like I lose a good set and then quickly fall apart in the next set. I think it’s a matter of momentum or mindset. I’m trying to work on my mental game, but it’s not going well. I’m trying to work on that and see if I can do better.

Do you have any advice for the players?

Heo Young-cheol: I asked them how desperate we were today. I told them how well we prepared for this game, but when I saw them playing around right after the feedback, I told them that they weren’t concentrating properly. I want to tell them that we need to be more desperate, and if we don’t, we can’t win.

Finally

Sylvie: I think the fans are disappointed because we didn’t play well today. Next time we’ll work on our problems and play better.
